These are some of the projects we have been involved with in the
2010-2011 Rotary Year. KivaKiva is a micro-lending organization that makes it easy to lend money to people who need it. You can go online and choose the projects you want to lend to, and then track the progress of the loans. You can see what we have been up to at Our Lender Page.CANstructionOnce a year, the Fair Oaks Malls hosts a CANstruction competition where teams build sculptures out of canned food. At the end of the competition, all of the food is donated to local food banks, including Love Chapel.Our club has entered the contents in each of its three years, and so far we have won the People's Choice award for best sculpture every time. HaitiWe organized a benefit concert, featuring 40 Year of College, that raised over $7500 to help the earthquake victims in Haiti.Love ChapelLove Chapel distributes food to those in our community who need it. Our club sends volunteers on the third Saturday a month to work at the distribution center.Last year we used matching funds from Rotary International to help Love Chapel buy office equiment for their new location. Roadside CleanupColumbus Sunrise Rotary has adopted a section of Indiana Highway 46 between the West Hill shopping center and road 525W.Shelter BoxThe Shelter Box project is an internation organization that provides shelter to disaster victims. Each box costs $1000 and contains shelter, cooking equipment, and tools for 10 people. So far, our club has sponsored six of the shelter boxes.
